Chelsea are open to taking just £25 million as search for a shirt sponsor rumbles on
As per Mirror, Chelsea are yet to find a main shirt sponsor, and as per the report, the Blues are seeking just £25 million for a new jersey sponsor before the 2-23-24 season starts.
The club is in dire need of income through shirt sales and has yet to find a main sponsor as their contract with mobile phone company Three expired. The sooner we can resolve the issue, the quicker we can turn our attention to matters on the field.
Chelsea recently revealed their new kid without any sponsor. It is understood that West Londoners are willing to accept massive reductions on their original demands in order to get someone on board as soon as possible.
The Blues were in talks with betting company Stake but had to withdraw following fans’ criticism and the Premier League’s banning of gambling companies. The league also vetoed a deal with steaming company Paramount+ due to a breach of Deed of License rules.
Chelsea also approached the services of the Creative Artists Agency to aid them in finding a sponsor before their Premier League game against Liverpool on August 13th. It is believed the club has been contacted by a host of big companies as they look to complete a deal with a more lucrative sponsor for next season.
As the club must make money not only from the sale of players but also from sponsors in addition to jersey sales, a solid sponsor with an alluring offer will be required to handle shirt sales. For us, £25 million is too little, especially so given the stature and pedigree we operate at.
