“Fake”- Agent of Serie A superstar opens up on transfer links amidst Chelsea interest

Agent of Chelsea target and Napoli star Victor Osimhen opens up on his future

The agent of Victor Osimhen has quashed rumours of the striker exploring all the options before penning down a new deal as a Napoli player, despite interest from European clubs, including Chelsea.

Osimhen’s breakthrough season last term has seen him centre attention as he remains the most sought-after striker in Europe. However, his high valuation, which is around £130 million, has made it difficult for interested clubs to make a move. Chelsea are keen on signing the 24-year-old despite landing Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, and the Nigerian has made no secret of playing in the Premier League.

The Nigerian is a certain type of striker who might fix Chelsea’s long-standing goal-scoring problems right away. The Blues have struggled to get goals in the past despite recruiting forwards like Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Last season, former Chelsea star Kai Havertz was shifted to the number nine position, where he also laboured to register goals as he netted only seven in the Premier League. The lack of an infallible goal scorer in Blue remains a concern as we head into the 2023-24 season.

Considering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku could leave the club in the current window, Chelsea should have space to sign another striker. But Osimhen’s agent has updated on his future, his words were quoted by Fabrizio Romano as he said:

“Reports of my plan to explore all the options now and then not sign a new contract at Napoli are completely fake.”

Chelsea’s lack of goals has seen them struggle to win games last season. Broja and Jackson are promising strikers, but they will need more experience to develop into goalscoring machines.

Osimhen could be an ideal striker for the club and can be the one to solve the club’s goalscoring issues. He is just 24 and possesses those killer instincts in front of goal, and he could guarantee us 20 or more goals every season if he remains consistent. Hopefully, we have generated enough sales to afford the signing of the former LOSC Lille striker for the upcoming campaign.
