Thiago Silva reacts to Chelsea star’s reported potential move to Manchester United

Thiago Silva comments on post claiming Chelsea’s Mason Mount has agreed terms with Manchester United

Thiago Silva has commented two crying emojis on a post that reported that Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has agreed personal terms to join Manchester United.

Once the transfer market opens, (h/t Football. London) the England international will be moving towards the Stamford Bridge exit gate. His situation in SW6 is yet to be resolved, with his deal expiring in June 2024.

And while Mauricio Pochettino wants the 24-year-old to stay, no resolution has been achieved despite Chelsea’s numerous negotiations with the midfielder.

The appointment of Pochettino by the Blues, though, was believed to be a stepping stone to persuade Mount to sign a new contract with Chelsea, but that has not been the case thus far.

And now that he is a free agent in the upcoming year, the club has also established his asking price out of concern that they would lose him. While having a bad season overall, Mount missed a lot of games due to abdominal discomfort, which led to him forgoing surgery.

Nevertheless, it was anticipated that he would play his final match for Chelsea against Newcastle United but he was in the stands, and the midfielder appeared to bid Chelsea supporters farewell after the game.

Silva’s comment summed up the fans’ reaction to Mount being on the verge of leaving the club. It isn’t a situation that can now be controlled. If the club haven’t made the Englishman feel valued, then perhaps it’s too late.

It is best to offload him now rather than lose him for nothing at the end of next season. It will be a shame, because we would be losing a quality homegrown player – one that fans have seen as one of their own.

More Chelsea News:

He has remained an important player and has given his all to help Chelsea win the Champions League ever since being promoted to Chelsea’s senior team. It will be preferable for the club to hunt for a quality replacement now that he might leave.
