21-year-old Chelsea star ready to fight for his spot at Stamford Bridge

Noni Madueke has no intention of leaving Chelsea on loan this summer

Chelsea star Noni Madueke has expressed his desire to stay at the club in the ongoing transfer window and is not looking to go out on a temporary move.

The Blues signed the English national from PSV Eindhoven for £30.5 million in January. However, there is immense competition for places at the Stamford Bridge side. The club are evidently expected to strengthen further this summer.

However, speaking to the Evening Standard, the 21-year-old has no intention of departing the West London club on loan. The forward is determined to fight for his place in the team.

“A loan spell would be impossible for both parties. I’ve been brought in and there’s a plan for me at the club. I finished the season well, so next season is just about kicking on in the team and showing everyone the real me.”

Madueke initially developed at the Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur academies. Subsequently, the youngster opted to leave England and further his footballing prospects in the Netherlands.

The 21-year-old established himself as a key player in the senior squad at PSV. Then, in the previous transfer window, Chelsea acquired the winger’s services.

Last season, the English national showed glimpses of his talent at the Stamford Bridge side. Under Frank Lampard, the forward enjoyed regular game time towards the end.

In the previous campaign, Chelsea endured a difficult period. The West London club ended up finishing 12th in the league table. From back to front, the Blues were underwhelming.

However, our attack was unable to produce much. We were unable to rely on any of our forwards to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Mykhaylo Mudryk were unable to make much of an impact.

As things stand, there seem to be a lot of players in the front line who are surplus to requirements. Madueke is a talented individual with a lot of potential. But will the English national be an important part of our squad next season? Only time will tell.
