Playing in an arguably less intense league in Saudi Arabia could help him, but the competition there is growing fast. Al-Ittihad have already signed Karim Benzema and now Kante seems to be their next big arrival.
He could be one of the trailblazers to up the league’s quality significantly in the coming years. We wish him all the best. His contract expires at the end of the month so we won’t stand to benefit from his sale – just the space he frees up on the wage bill.
