Al Ittihad have completed the deal to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante
As per a tweet from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, French midfielder N’Golo Kante has completed his move from Chelsea to Saudi Arabia side Al Ittihad.
It is revealed that the 32-year-old completed his medical in London and agreed to a two-year deal with an option for a third. The Frenchman will get a €100m per season salary which includes image rights, commercial deals and a creative portfolio.
Kante’s contract at Chelsea expires at the end of this month. He has been an exceptional servant for the club since arriving from Leicester City in 2016 following a Premier League triumph.
Here’s what Romano tweeted:
Not many players in the world have won a Premier League title with two different clubs. Kante achieved that in back-to-back seasons with Leicester and Chelsea.
If and when he retires from football, he will do that as one of the modern-day greats. The performance levels dipped in the last 18 months due to constant injury concerns. That was probably one of the main reasons why the Blues did not offer him a new contract.
Although the 2018 World Cup winner did not play much during the 2022/23 season due to a major injury, he came back for the final few games and showed why there aren’t many better than him in the Chelsea side.
So, despite the availability concern, the Blues might have been better suited in offering him a new contract just how Ittihad did (two plus one). One cannot say that the player moved to the Saudi Arabian club just for the money.

Anyway, the deal is done now and we wish Kante the best for what is to come in his career. Filling his spot in the squad would be a tough ask for Chelsea.
