Fabrizio Romano shoots down Lautaro Martinez to Chelsea rumours

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that there is nothing concrete between Chelsea and Inter Milan superstar Lautaro Martinez.

According to Mail Online, the Argentina international is one of the players on Mauricio Pochettino’s wishlist after becoming Chelsea’s new manager. Romano, however, doesn’t think there is anything concrete in these rumours.

He exclusively told GiveMeSport:

“At the moment I’m not aware of any contact for Martinez, but let’s see what’s going to happen in the conversations between Inter Milan and Chelsea for Lukaku this month when they speak about that. But at the moment, with Martinez and Chelsea, there is still nothing concrete.”

The 25-year-old is one of the best strikers around for sure. His age profile is one where it is clear that he has been consistent for several years and gained crucial experience while also having enough years ahead of him to keep playing at his best.

No Lautaro to Chelsea

He has good pace, can dribble well, has a brilliant shot on him and can beat defenders too. There is hardly any weakness in his game.

He is a striker we should be all over if we want to get in a trusted No. 9 for years to come. But Inter Milan’s situation is one to keep in mind too. Romelu Lukaku and Martinez are two of their most trusted strikers alongside Edin Dzeko.

But the Bosnia & Herzegovina international is 37 years old while the Belgian is on loan at Inter from the Blues. Let’s see. Hopefully, Chelsea try to sneak in Lautaro smartly when discussing Lukaku’s future in Milan.

More Chelsea News:

It wouldn’t be a bad trade to make. But it is clear that we need a proper world-class goal-getter after the horrific season we have had in front of goal. Kai Havertz just doesn’t cut it at No.9 anymore.
