Kai Havertz makes his stance clear as Chelsea exit appears likely

Kai Havertz has no intention of signing new Chelsea contract amidst Arsenal interest

Chelsea star Kai Havertz has no intention of signing a new contract at the Stamford Bridge side amidst interest from Arsenal, according to ESPN.

As things stand, the Germany international’s existing deal with the Blues runs until June 2025. Therefore, the Blues still seemingly have some say in his future. However, now the West London club will be under pressure to drop their asking price for the forward.

The 24-year-old is on the radar of the Gunners. To that end, Chelsea want £70 million to part ways with him. But if we keep the former Bayer Leverkusen star for another year, his valuation will evidently drop.

Havertz is willing to make the switch to the North London side in the ongoing transfer window. But the Blues rejected Mikel Arteta’s team’s initial offer for the German national. But they are expected to put in another bid.

Apart from Arsenal, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also expressed keenness regarding the forward. However, it remains to be seen whether the Bavarians will opt to challenge the Gunners for the 24-year-old signature.

In the summer of 2020, the Stamford Bridge side signed Havertz. The German scored the winning goal in the Champions League final to steer the West London club to victory over Manchester City.

Unfortunately, the forward has not really been prolific at Chelsea. But the 24-year-old has been deployed as a number nine on multiple occasions due to our lack of options and quality up front.

Arsenal look to be building something special under Arteta. The North London side were on top of the Premier League table for the majority of the 2022/23 campaign. However, they slipped up in the end.

Havertz was one of the biggest prospects at Leverkusen. Unfortunately, the German has been unable to make the most of his time at Chelsea. However, the 24-year-old has just entered his prime physical years. Therefore, the Blues have no obligation to drop their price.
