Chelsea looking at Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic as one of the possible options for the striker role
According to The Telegraph [Subscription Required] (h/t Football London), Chelsea are looking at Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as one of the possible targets to fill up the striker position.
With Pierre Emile-Aubameyang expected to leave the club in the transfer window, there is a shortage of a proper No. 9 considering the future of Romelu Lukaku is also uncertain.
Lukaku spent the last year on loan at Inter Milan and it is claimed that the Belgian does not see his future at Stamford Bridge and is looking at different possible options for next season.
Therefore, it is crucial that we secure a proper striker around whom the attack can be centred. Without a proper no.9, there would still be the same issues that we saw this season.
With lots of technical players, we missed a natural goalscorer who could convert chances and Kai Havertz’s transfer to Arsenal only necessitates the need much more.
Vlahovic has not had the best of times at Juventus since his move from Fiorentina. He has struggled to make an impact and many suggest that the Serbian might look for a move elsewhere in order to reignite his career.
The Serbian is still only 23 and has his peak years ahead of him. Technically gifted and a big figure with a wonderful left foot, there is a lot of potential in this signing.
While Christopher Nkunku’s signing from RB Leipzig is confirmed, it is to be kept in mind that he is not an out-and-out forward and his best position is playing as a second striker. Moreover, he can use some quality competition up front.

Hence, signing a top-class forward should be seen as one of the priorities for the club and Juventus’ Vlahovic does provide an exciting option. He doesn’t guarantee success in the Premier League but we can’t know how he will perform for us unless we actually see him playing in our colours.
