Inter Milan interested in signing Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta
Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is attracting interest from Inter Milan in the ongoing transfer window, according to Sky Sport via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The Nerazzurri have placed the Spain international on their wishlist this summer. To that end, the Serie A giants have already held talks with the Blues regarding acquiring the services of the defender.
As things stand, the 33-year-old is a concrete option for the Italian outfit. He could add to the number of outgoings from the Stamford Bridge side in the coming months.
Chelsea have relied on Azpilicueta for several years now. The Spaniard made his way to the Blues in the summer of 2012 from Olympique Marseille.
Since then, the right-back has played a pivotal role in our multiple Premier League-winning campaigns. The 33-year-old also has a Champions League and Europa League medal to his name.
However, Azpilicueta has fallen down the pecking order. In the 2022/23 campaign, our captain was mostly a squad player. The Spaniard’s performances did not instil a lot of confidence, either.
Reece James has taken over the right-hand side of the defence at Chelsea. The England international has been one of our best players over the years. We will also have Malo Guto joining our senior ranks soon.
Last season, the Stamford Bridge side were abysmal from front to back. The Blues finished 12th in the league table and are set to be without any European football.

It feels like the end of an era at the West London club. Azpilicueta has been a brilliant servant for us. However, as of late, the 33-year-old’s age has seemingly caught up to him. It will be interesting to see whether the Spaniard will start a new chapter at Inter in the coming months.
