Galatasaray have asked Chelsea for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing

Galatasaray have contacted Chelsea about the prospect of bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the summer transfer window, as per journalist Ertan Süzgün, via CFPys on Twitter (h/t Football.London).

Aubameyang has frequently indicated his desire to leave the team and return to Barcelona during the summer transfer window.The Spanish powerhouses want the Gabon international for nothing, but Chelsea would like to make a profit if they sold him.

With a year still remaining on his deal, that only makes sense. It has also become evident that the former Arsenal forward doesn’t have a future in SW6 – at least not as a regular starter.

The striker has fallen out of favour at West London. Under Frank Lampard, he played one or two games, then-manager Graham Potter hardly utilised him and he was left off the team for this year’s Champions League.

This is Chelsea’s third dismal signing of a striker after the former Arsenal player’s transfer from Barcelona to Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, are other transfers who failed to have a major effect at Stamford Bridge.

Since Diego Costa left, Chelsea have generally had bad success finding quality strikers to sign, and this seems to have become an affliction for them.

And struggling to find a quality number 9 has certainly had an impact on their games, which saw them go many games without scoring goals, despite creating numerous opportunities.

Todd Boehly spent an exorbitant money in the previous two windows but failed to get a player who can score goals. If Chelsea and Inter are unable to come up with a plan to permanently move Lukaku to the Serie A club, he could return to west London.

Additionally, Chelsea are attempting to offload the former Borussia Dortmund striker who desires to go back to Barcelona. However, the Catalan giants are unwilling to pay anything, so if the Turkish team makes a fair offer, we can sell him to them. In the end, we must consider our own interests.

Sure, Auba would have his own opinion about the move. A transfer to Barcelona appeals way more than a move to the Turkish league, especially if he gets to play under Xavi Hernandez. But we can’t do any favours here and must think about the financial well-being of the club – even if its only about a few million pounds.
