Fabrizio Romano reveals Al-Nassr have reached verbal agreement to sign Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech
Fabrizio Romano on Twitter has reported that Al-Nassr have reached a verbal agreement to sign Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech. The former Ajax player Amsterdam star will sign a contract until 2026.
Al-Nassr already have one of the best players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, who they acquired in January. Adding Ziyech to the roster will make life easier for the club going forward.
Ziyech had already made his feelings clear about leaving Chelsea during the winter window when he was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain. It would now appear that his future lies in the middle east.
The move to PSG was stalled due to last-minute issues in the contract. Ziyech was signed from Ajax following an impressive 2018-19 campaign with the Dutch giants. Unfortunately, he has failed to replicate the same results in Blue.
Now the former Ajax forward will leave having made 107 appearances, scored 14 goals, and won one Champions League trophy. Ziyech will join former Chelsea player N’Golo Kante, who joined Al-Ittihad, while several other players have also been linked with a move to the Saudi club.
His departure will help the Blues offload a healthy amount of his wages and abide by the Financial Fair Play rule. Hopefully, he will be one of many Chelsea stars to call the middle east home.
Although he may not have had much of an influence on Chelsea, Ziyech is a tremendous player who never quite found his bearings at Chelsea. Playing in a comparatively weaker league will be easier and he will certainly aid Ronaldo’s aim to make a name for himself in Asia

It goes without saying that the Blues will benefit financially from selling Ziyech and freeing up space on the wage bill. Since we haven’t made a summer signing yet, let’s hope we can dispose of additional unused players before June 30 to balance the budget.
