Chelsea unwilling to lose U-20 World Cup hero on a permanent basis

Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea will only loan Cesare Casadei with no obligation to buy

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter , Chelsea do not plan on including a buy option in the loan agreement for Cesare Casadei this summer.

The youngster is happy at Chelsea and will entertain a loan move this summer. Several clubs have shown interest in taking him into their ranks on a temporary basis.

The 20-year-old, who joined the club from Inter Milan last year is coming off a strong loan spell at Reading. He has developed his game since arriving at Stamford Bridge but could do with regular playing time elsewhere.

He was later called by the Italy U20 squad for the U20 World Cup, and the youngster played a significant part in helping the team reach the final of the tournament.

However, despite losing 1-0 to Uruguay in the final, the 20-year-old was named Player of The Tournament and also won the Golden Boot. It was an impressive string of performances as Casadei scored seven goals and registered two assists.

Chelsea have another top-class midfielder in Andrey Santos, who is also expected to join once he sorts out his visa issue. Meanwhile, the Blues could lose their academy graduate Mason Mount to Manchester United, who are willing to sign the midfielder and are projected to make another bid for the England international.

Casadei has demonstrated his skills, but there is still potential for improvement. A loan to another club will undoubtedly help him develop into a top-tier midfielder. A loan to a club in the Premier League will be the ideal way forward.

One thing has been confirmed that he is a prolific goalscorer, and in addition to that, he is aware of other areas where he may develop his skills further.

Romano claims there are numerous loan offers for the young player, but we are not aware of the clubs involved. Hopefully, most of them are Premier League teams so that he can gain league exposure and, ideally, be prepared to make an impact for the Blues in the future.
