Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter has claimed Chelsea outcast Callum Hudson-Odoi has been contacted by Saudi clubs regarding a potential summer transfer.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bayern Leverkusen but will now return to Chelsea. He could see himself leaving the Blues once again as he has been targeted by plenty of Middle Eastern clubs.
However, as of now, it is uncertain if the youngster is prepared to move to a Saudi club, as the talks have yet to be held. A move to the middle east at this age could be a step back in Hudson-Odoi’s strive for stardom.
Many Chelsea stars have been linked with a move to a Saudi club with the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Meanwhile, star midfielder N’Golo Kante has finally joined Al-Ittihad following a troubled couple of seasons where he struggled with injuries.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz is looking to join Arsenal, while Mason Mount is being approached by Manchester United. The Blues are hoping to trim down their squad as they look to sell plenty of players after spending over £600 million last season under Todd Bohely.
In July, Mauricio Pochettino is anticipated to begin working with Chelsea, where he will assess the team’s situation and start his famous training regimen. Whether Hudson-Odoi will be a name on the list remains to be seen.
Callum Hudson-Odoi must decide what to do with his career because he underwhelmed in Germany, where he was not permanently signed by Leverkusen. Given that the area where he plays is already crowded with players like Mykhaylo Mudryl, Raheem Sterling, and Christopher Nkunku, it would be extremely hard for him to receive any playing time at Chelsea.
Considering that he is only 22, he still has time to resurrect his career, but he will need to compete for a slot, and if Saudi clubs give him a rich deal, it will be difficult for him to refuse them. But ultimately, it’s all up to him. He’s still young, so if not Chelsea, another European club might be where he finds his form.
