Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have had talks for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund
Chelsea need a striker this summer, and Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Blues hold an interest in Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen, who has fired his team to Serie A glory this season. He can, however, be costly.
Osimhen’s price tag could go up to £150million. That is ridiculous but from Napoli’s point of view, they can’t be faulted for it. For them, he’s as important as, say, Kylian Mbappe is to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
They would have also seen our spending spree under Todd Boehly in the past two transfer windows and know that we have financial power under our new owners. Hojlund presents himself as a cheaper alternative for us in this case.
Chelsea should continue to pursue Hojlund deal
According to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Atalanta striker could cost his suitors a fee of €60million (~£52million). He has also been linked with a transfer to Manchester United.
Romano said on AMP:
“Chelsea’s striker signing is still a priority this summer. They like Victor Osimhen. They have had conversations in terms of the conditions of the deal for Rasmus Hojlund, about many different options but they haven’t decided who yet…”
Hojlund is quick and he is good with the ball at his feet. The 20-year-old has the raw materials to develop into a world-class striker. We have Armando Broja in our ranks too.

But those who have seen the Denmark international would know that he is further along the development curve than Broja. He can be a player we instantly slot into the starting XI, and a talented youngster Mauricio Pochettino can help develop.
