Saudi quartet keeping a keen eye on out-of-favour Chelsea star

Chelsea star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is being monitored by four Saudi Clubs

As per Sky Sports, Chelsea outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is wanted by four Saudi clubs, among which Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad have been named potential destinations.

Aubameyang, who joined Chelsea in the previous summer window, could leave the West Londoners after enduring a dismal campaign. He failed to take his opportunities and was largely an invisible figure as the Blues struggled to score goals.

The Gabonese striker was signed to address the Blues’ goal-scoring issues but failed embarrassingly and scored only one goal in the entire season in Premier League. To call it underwhelming is an understatement.

However, it appears his time at Stamford Bridge could be coming to an end with Saudi clubs monitoring his situation, while Barcelona, Inter Milan, and AC Milan also remain in the fray. The Blues are also hoping to offload the 33-year-old and reduce their too-large squad to gain profit from their losses.

Chairman Todd Boehly has spent around £600 million in the last two transfers but has failed to sign a clinical number nine who can solve the club’s goal scoring problems. It has been Chelsea’s major issue, and the Blues are now hoping to land a quality striker next season, with Napoli ace Victor Osimhen linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Incoming manager Pochettino has already pushed the team to sign an experienced striker for the upcoming campaign as he prepares to begin his reign in the coming weeks.

Saudi clubs have enticed many great players this season and may do the same with the former Arsenal striker. While it will be difficult for other interested teams to compete with the large salaries paid by Middle Eastern clubs, Aubameyang will have to decide whether he wants to play in Saudi Arabia or continue in Europe.

A parting of the ways is the best way forward for both Chelsea and Aubameyang. The affair has not worked out and it is time that both sides try out something new.
