Chelsea are pushing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of Stamford Bridge against his own will.

Chelsea reject Galatasaray transfer bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea have turned down Galatasaray’s initial bid to sign outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is pushing for a move this summer.

As per the Telegraph, (h/t Metro) the Turkish club made a bid for the 34-year-old to sign the striker for free. But the West Londoners have rebuffed the deal and hope to gain something from the Gabon star’s exit.

The Blues signed the former Arsenal hitman from Barcelona in the previous summer window for €12 million (£10.3 million). The reunion with Thomas Tuvchel did not last long as the German was sent on his way soon after.

Aubameyang made a mere 11 starts in all competitions last season, scoring just one goal. The Blues are currently undergoing a huge exodus of unwanted players, with Aubameyang among those expected to leave Stamford Bridge

Aubameyang is currently earning around £160,000 a week, which the Blues want to get off their wage bill to balance the books. The 34-year-old also has interest from Saudi clubs, while Barcelona are also considering bringing the striker back to the Spanish club.

Aubameyang is not at the height of his powers and is in the twilight of his career. Chelsea could struggle to recoup top dollar and might need to lower their expectations. One way or another, it will come as a surprise should he continue at the club beyond this summer.

Aubameyang is 34 years old and has a few years left in his playing career, so it will be good for us to offload him sooner rather than later. Hopefully a deal will come along soon that will provide a good solution for all parties involved.
