Chelsea demand ‘important fee’ for Real Madrid target; not open to loan deals

Chelsea ready to sell Kai Havertz to Chelsea for the right price.

Real Madrid are interested in signing Kai Havertz with Chelsea only wanting a permanent sale

As per a tweet from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have a concrete interest in signing Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. Carlo Ancelotti likes the German international.

Now, while Chelsea are open to negotiations, they only want an important fee and a permanent sale of the player. They won’t be interested in any loan offers.

Havertz’s time at Stamford Bridge has been full of ‘what might be’. He showed glimpses of brilliance but lacked consistency while playing as a number nine on most occasions.

His performance and the match-winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City won’t be forgotten though.

We know that Chelsea want to generate funds from selling players if they are to make signings this summer. Hence, they won’t entertain a loan offer from Madrid for Havertz.

If we look at the numbers from the former Bayer Leverkusen star, he scored only 32 goals and assisted 15 in 139 appearances in all competitions.

The 23-year-old can yet do a good job as an attacking midfielder operating behind a ruthless striker. But, with Christopher Nkunku set to arrive this summer, that place might be tough to get for the German.

So we can understand why Chelsea are open to letting Havertz go in the coming transfer window. Let’s hope Madrid agree to buy him on a permanent transfer.

With no European football next season, it might be tough for Mauricio Pochettino and co. to attract an elite striker to come and play for them.
