Real Madrid line up ‘mega offer’ to sign Chelsea star ‘quickly’

published :

Bayern Munich joins Arsenal in a race to sign Chelsea star Kai Havertz.

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz’s transfer to Real Madrid could be imminent

Following the club’s announcement that Karim Benzema would be leaving, (h/t Mirror) Real Madrid are now seriously considering signing Kai Havertz.

According to German outlet Bild, Real Madrid are also lining up with a ‘mega offer’ to sign the former Bayern Leverkusen player, and the move could happen ‘very quickly’. The defending Champions League champion wants to sign Havertz as soon as possible.

Despite having a contract that lasts until 2024, the Frenchman spent 14 years at Real Madrid. The 35-year-old will leave the club after winning the Ballon d’Or last season.

The 23-year-old is admired by Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian manager, who wants the team to improve after a challenging season.

The West Londoners, meanwhile, are open to hearing proposals starting at £72 million. And as per the report, a massive offer has been proposed as Los Blancos want the transfer to be completed.

Back then, Real Madrid were reportedly interested in Havertz, but Chelsea acted quickly to sign him. In the meantime, the Blues are prepared to trim down the roster by offloading a number of unnecessary players.

It remains to be seen what Mauricio Pochettino thinks of this and if he will veto the transfer from happening. Havertz’s exit could leave us very lightweight up front.

It will be very tough to keep the German international if Real Madrid comes up with an enticing offer, as they have previously done with Eden Hazard. The 23-year-old hasn’t even settled here yet despite being here for three years but in his defence, he has been played as a No. 9 for far too long.

His strength lies in playing behind the No. 9, which is where we should be trying him out. He is a very smart playmaker and his height and attacking intelligence allow him to chase in for second balls in the box.

More Chelsea News:

If a great offer arrives, we can use it to sign a top defensive midfielder or invest it straight up front in attack. It remains to be seen what happens. One thing is for certain – not a lot of players can say no when Real Madrid come up with an offer, that too to replace one of the club’s best No. 9 in recent years.
