Al-Hilal delegation in talks to beat Chelsea to world-class South American star

Al-Hilal are prepared to sign Chelsea target Neymar who could leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer

According to CBS Sport, (Football.London) the Al-Hilal delegation flew to Paris to hold talks with the entourage of Neymar who is already attracting attention from Chelsea.

It is also understood that they will make a lucrative offer for the 31-year-old and are ready to pay €45 million (£38 million) for his transfer fee. However, they are yet to initiate a conversation with Paris Saint-Germain who are already reeling from Lionel Messi’s exit.

PSG are open to selling the former Barcelona player, and Premier League club Chelsea are interested in signing the Brazilian. The 31-year-old still has much to offer and could spearhead the Mauricio Pochettino revolution at Stamford Bridge.

Neymar could follow his former teammate Lionel Messi and leave the club in the summer window. The Brazilian came close to joining Chelsea in 2010 but instead opted to move to Barcelona eventually.

However, the 31-year-old appears to favour a switch to Manchester United if a Premier League move is to be made. PSG fans also made their feelings clear towards the Brazilian following their protest in front of his house. The former Santos forward was having a prolific season before he was sidelined earlier in the season following his ankle injury.

With their lucrative offers, Saudi clubs have persuaded numerous star players this season to sign with them, and if they make an alluring offer, they could persuade the Brazilian to leave as well. By luring huge games to the clubs, they appear to be increasing the popularity of their Saudi Pro League.

Neymar might be persuaded to join Al-Hilal if they made an alluring offer, although that totally depends on him as he still has many years left in him to play at the top level.

Chelsea could do with a player of Neymar’s ability but without the added baggage of the off-field drama. The last thing we need is to pay over the odds for the Brazilian’s services.

Instead of spending money on a player who has a history of injuries and won’t be dependable every season, we should opt for smarter additions.
