Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea are in talks with AC Milan over Ruben Loftus-Cheek transfer
Fabrizio Romano via Twitter has revealed that Chelsea are in advanced talks with AC Milan about the sale of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and that both teams are currently discussing his asking price.
According to Romano, the midfielder has also agreed to join Milan and appears to be eager to do so. Chelsea may make their first summer move as they near completion of the sale of Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan this season.
His departure also serves to motivate the club to trim its bloated squad and reduce the wage bill in order to make room for new signings.
The 27-year-old has not been a regular this season, and his move to a Serie A club could help him rekindle his fortunes. Milan are reeling after a poor season and will need additions to challenge for the title next time around.
And Romano has updated on Twitter, what phases are in both parties as they discuss the potential summer move of Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan. The versatile midfielder will offer Stefano Pioli several options in the middle of the park.
“Talks continue behind the scenes for Ruben Loftus.” Cheek to AC Milan. He’s a top target for Milan, as revealed last week. Chelsea and Milan are discussing the fee for a permanent deal; there is no way for a loan. RLC, keen on Serie A move.”
Hopefully, his transfer will allow us to make way for other sales, allowing the club to sell its unwanted players and make Mauricio Pochettino’s job easier.
However, the former Southampton head coach should also provide input on who he wants at the club. Several players are likely to depart, meaning another summer of a rebuild is currently awaiting Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek will hopefully earn a lot of time on the pitch there. And knowing we have already engaged in transfers with Milan, with Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori joining them in recent years. Logtus-Cheek could be the third to cross that chasm.
