Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Chelsea are open to selling Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi in the summer transfer window should the right offer come in.
The Blues are trying to offload marginal players during the summer window in order to shrink their bloated squad. Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi may be among the players who leave next season with Napoli interested in the former.
Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi, who is now on loan at Bayern Leverkusen, will speak with Mauricio Pochettino about his future at Chelsea. Having come through the system, it remains to be seen if his association with the club will continue.
And, according to Romano, Chelsea may profit from their signing, which would help them balance their payroll bill. In his exclusive chat with GIVEMESPORT, the transfer specialist said:
“For players like Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi, I think it will depend on the proposals. Chelsea will try to get the best proposals for these players, and then they will make a final decision. The same will happen with other players.”
“I think there will be a big change for Chelsea in terms of the number of players. They know they can’t continue with the number of players they currently have in the squad, so I think there could be many, many outgoings this summer.”
It can be argued that neither player has impressed the club for some time now. Rather than let them warm the bench, it is in our best interests to sell them and reinvest the money into the squad.
We may absolutely profit from their departure, and we made a good decision by loaning Hudson-Odoi to Leverkusen; at the very least, he got some game time, while Pulisic has seen fewer minutes so far this season.
And, considering that we already have enough players on the left side, we may work out a deal with Leverkusen to send Hudson-Odoi on a permanent basis, while with Napoli we need to get an ideal profit out of the Pulisic deal.
And with Christopher Nkunku arriving next season, their game time will be more compromised, so it would be a logical decision for both players to find playing time at other clubs. And if Pochettino has plans for them, then they can fight for their place.
