“No friendship”-Petit confirms that Chelsea subs were at odds in Arsenal loss

Emmanuel Petit reveals Chelsea players were arguing among themselves against Arsenal

Emmanuel Petit revealed that the Chelsea players were engaged in conflict during the second half of the Blues’ 3-1 Premier League loss to Arsenal.

Having gone six games without a victory under interim manager Frank Lampard, Chelsea have reached a new low and is currently ranked 12th in the Premier League standings.

Martin Odegaard’s brace, Gabriel Jesus’ deadly finish, and Noni Madueke’s consolation goal for the West Londoners highlighted the stark disparity between the two teams as Arsenal got back on the title trail.

If Bournemouth win against Chelsea, the Blues then might fall to 13th place, continuing their slide down the table. They can even drop to 14th place if Wolves also win their respective match.

The ex-Arsenal player who was sitting close to the Chelsea bench noticed that the Blues players were bickering, (h/t Metro). After the game, he brought up the subject and said:

‘’I was quite close to the Chelsea bench, and I saw some of the players having arguments between them in the second half especially.”

‘’I was very shocked in the first half by the attitude of the players, the body language, the lack of response, the lack of pride, the lack of unity, and the lack of friendship.”

The arrival of Frank Lampard has not helped a bit in boosting players’ drive to win games. Players are frustrated because they want to win games but are unable to find an answer to their woes. You can see how the squad is not able to create a connection with one another on the field, and it is inevitable that players will become angry, this might result in discontent in the locker room or bench.

Although we improved in the second half and had opportunities to, we spurned them. The Gunners completely controlled the game; they had 10 shots on goal compared to our four, and they had 55% of the possession.

It would be preferable to bring in a new manager at this time so that he has time to find a solution. The more we continue to struggle, the worser morale is.
