Neymar considering leaving Paris Saint-Germain amid interest from Chelsea
Neymar reportedly wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain, amid interest from Chelsea and other Premier League clubs
Additionally, Paris Saint-Germain are willing to sell the former Barcelona forward, and the French club is even prepared to offer a prospective team a “significantly reduced” fee, (h/t Daily Mail) according to Brazilian publication UOL.
And because of worries over financial fair play, the Ligue 1 team are willing to remove his £44 million-per-season income from its payroll. Neymar’s €222 million transfer from Barcelona to PSG set a new world record in the transfer window.
The 31-year-old is currently recovering from an ankle injury and has been sidelined until the end of the season. Injuries have stagnated his career at PSG to a big extent, but he has been a class apart whenever he has been on the pitch.
It is also known that the Brazilian desires to play in the Premier League, and there are a few clubs that can pay his salary of €40 million annually.
Todd Boehly and Nasser al-Khelaifi, the chairman of PSG, had already met in February to examine the possibility of the two teams working together to get Neymar.
And according to insiders, the owner of the Blues is a huge Neymar fan and wants to sign the former Santos player for next season. Due to his constant injury setbacks, Neymar is not a reliable player despite having tremendous talents on the pitch, so signing him doesn’t seem like a good move.
We don’t need a winger; instead, we need a goalie, a holding midfielder, and a striker. We already are not participating in the Champions League, so it is better we make signings that help us balance our books rather than add more financial burden on the team.

Before hiring the Brazilian, Todd Boehly ought to speak with our new manager. We need the opinion of our new manager before making any signings since he should decide on player transfers. Neymar won’t be just anybody to manage in the dressing room too.
One can imagine he won’t be happy if and when he isn’t picked to play here. There can always be potential ego clashes with a player of his stature and not to mention, at 31, his best days are behind him. This is one deal we are better off not indulging in.
