Chelsea have made an enquiry and will consider making a bid for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
As per Italian outlet II Mattino (h/t Express), Chelsea have enquired about Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and will consider making a bid for him in the summer window.
Having moved from Dinamo Batumi to Napoli last summer, the Georgian international has had a crazy first season in Naples. His partnership with Victor Osimhen was one of the key reasons behind their success in the Serie A and a run till the quarter-final of the Champions League.
The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals and assisted 17 in 40 appearances in all competitions for the current Serie A holders. He is not only a tricky customer in wide areas, but also a deadly finisher in and around the opposition box.
Coming back to Chelsea, they spent £88.5m to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January window. The Ukraine international has struggled for game time since impressing everyone during his club debut against Liverpool.
The Blues also have Raheem Sterling, who plays either on the left wing or as a number nine. They will also welcome Christopher Nkunku in the summer from RB Leipzig via a pre-agreed deal. The Frenchman also likes to operate either on the left wing or as an attacking number 10.
We all know where Kvaratskhelia likes to play – left wing. So, it won’t make any sense for Chelsea to add another winger to the list.
That team needs a striker and quick. A few days ago, Guardian reported that the club is eyeing an ambitious swoop for Kvaratskhelia’s partner-in-chief at Napoli Victor Osimhen. It remains to be seen whether they can attract given there is no European football to offer.

Whatever happens in the summer, Chelsea do not need Kvaratskhelia irrespective of how good he is right now. If they are desperate for him, then sell Mudryk and Sterling first because we would not be wanting an unhealthily high count of squad members at the club.
