Chelsea continue their pursuit of 24-year-old Serie A winning superstar

Chelsea are still pushing to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen

According to Florian Plettenberg on Twitter (h/t Metro), Chelsea continue to attempt to secure the signature of Victor Osimhen, who is valued at €150 million by Napoli.

Chelsea’s pursuit of a striker remains of paramount importance next summer, despite Todd Boehly’s spending £600 million on new arrivals in past transfer windows.

They are currently ranked 12th in the Premier League table and have two games remaining before the season ends. To call our campaign underwhelming is an understatement.

Aside from them, Manchester United are also interested in signing Serie A’s leading scorer. This season, the Nigerian forward has scored 28 goals in 37 games for the Italian club.

However, signing Osimhen will be difficult because Chelsea must comply with Financial Fair Play, which may prohibit them from spending an excessive amount of cash in the transfer window. They will also miss out on the Champions League next season, which may influence Osimhen’s interest in joining Chelsea.

The most essential issue is that they will have to reduce their inflated squad for future arrivals since having too many players at the club has made it difficult for managers to organise training sessions.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has been selected as Chelsea’s new manager for the upcoming season. The Argentine helped Harry Kane develop into a world class player and could help Osimhen take his game even higher.

Osimhen appears to be the missing piece in our number nine role, and he will undoubtedly fulfil it because he possesses the qualities of being merciless in front of goal and positional awareness.

At only 24, he is an exemplary goalscorer, and his signing will undoubtedly benefit us. Imagine Enzo Fernandez picking up with his long balls, and the Nigerian without a doubt will make sure those long balls land in the net.

More Chelsea News:

We should actively strive for his signing since it is preferable to get a great striker rather than a developing striker. Our previous two striker signings have taught us a lesson, and we should not make the same mistake again.
