Manchester United hand Chelsea massive transfer boost in the race for Serie A goal-getter

Boost for Chelsea as Manchester United drop Victor Osimhen pursuit

Manchester United have pulled out from the race to sign Victor Osimhen handing Chelsea a huge advantage in their pursuit. The Nigerian goal machine would severely strengthen the Blues’ frontline, handing them the goal-getter they sorely lack.

As per Sky Sports Germany, (h/t Express), United are reportedly more interested in Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt, which opens up the opportunity for Chelsea to pounce and secure Osimhen

Many clubs, including Manchester United, hold the Napoli No. 9 in high regard and have reportedly made him one of their top targets for the next transfer window. Hopefully, Todd Boehly can open the chequebook once again and come out on top.

The Red Devils believe they can get Muani for a far lower cost and consider the Napoli star’s price tag to be far too excessive.

And it’s claimed that Muani is ranked higher by United head coach Erik Ten Hag. His record of 13 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances highlight what has been a sensational season for the Frenchman. Osimhen has put together an incredible campaign of his own, scoring 21 goals in 26 league games as Napoli close in on the Scudetto..

The Blues, who have had trouble scoring goals this season, are aiming to sign an elite striker for next year. Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have both remained poor in front of goal and the latter is set to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Given that United do not appear to be interested in signing the 24-year-old, it is a huge boost that we are still the only team in the running to sign the former Lille striker. Osimhen, who is ruthless and positions himself for goals like Erling Haaland, is undoubtedly the sort of striker who can address our goal-scoring problems.

At only 24, he is already clinical in front of goal and will only get better. The sooner we can integrate him into our roster, the better.

Additionally, David Datro Fofana and Armando Broja will experience less pressure next season and will serve as backup strikers. Neither is ready to become a regular starter just yet.
