Reliable journalist Ben Jacobs has stated that Chelsea are seeking an immersive and international partner to sponsor their jersey for the upcoming season.
The Blues’ existing sponsorship agreement with Three will soon come to an end at the end of the season. The club are seeking a more lucrative arrangement for the upcoming season in spite of not competing in the Champions League.
Furthermore, Allianz, a massive German company, is apparently in talks with the Blues about being their upcoming primary sponsor. Jacobs also asserts that West Londoners are considering a number of solutions. Instead of merely paying someone to put a logo on their shirt, they want a worldwide, immersive partner.
In his most recent exclusive and in-depth Chelsea FC post for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week, Jacobs provided a thorough explanation of Chelsea’s search for their next shirt sponsor. He said:
The club has been looking at a variety of options. They are seeking an immersive and global partner rather than just someone to pay in order to slap a logo on their shirt.”
“By this, I mean Chelsea want a main sponsor who offers wider club and fan benefits and has a bit more of a global audience. And usually, when you narrow it down to that, you’re looking at banks or insurers, cars, airlines, and technology giants. There’s definitely been some talk with Allianz. Chelsea are hoping to tie up something sooner rather than later so they can get all the assets together ahead of the new season’s launch.”
More lucrative sponsors are required for the upcoming season, as they will aid in both our financial needs (given that we won’t participate in the Champions League) and our capacity to sign new players. However, despite our brand, the lack of Champions League football does put us in a position of disadvantage.
We have overspent this season, and moving forward, we will need to be careful with our expenditure. The last thing we can now do is violate any Financial Fair Play regulations.
We will need to be prudent with our spending and signings considering that Manchester City are under investigation for violating FFP. Todd Boehly will need to ensure every penny that comes in makes a difference to our fortunes on and off the field.
