What Todd Boehly did after full-time whistle in Chelsea vs Brighton clash

Owner Todd Boehly was spotted going into the Chelsea dressing room after Brighton defeat

Following the final whistle after Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Brighton Hove & Albion Blues, club chairman Todd Boehly was seen visiting the locker room.

Chelsea suffered another painful setback, (h,t Football.London), bringing their total to four defeats in five games played in all competitions.

As they search for an ideal manager for the upcoming season, Boehly has named Frank Lampard as a temporary manager till the end of the current campaign.

Boehly, the new owners of Chelsea, has fired two managers this season so far, with Chelsea now standing 11th in the Premier League.

They also run the possibility of exiting the Champions League quarterfinal if they cannot overcome a 2-0 deficit against Real Madrid in the second leg.

Chelsea are in severe need of a manager who can reverse the course of the team. Names like Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have been strongly linked with the job at Stamford Bridge.

There hasn’t been much consistency in Chelsea’s game, and the top-four race is now completely done, and winning the Champions League is the only thing left to hope for.

Lampard will have yet another enormous challenge to reverse the 2-0 disadvantage when they host Real at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Todd Boehly was seen heading to Chelsea’s dressing room after their defeat to Brighton.

If Boehly went into the dressing room to give a pep talk, it would be pointless since it is unlikely to be useful for the players anymore. The squad is fractured, and the hiring of Lampard hasn’t produced any positive results, so this season is done on the domestic front.

There is hope that we can overturn a two-goal deficit against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg. But despite the game being at Stamford Bridge, fans would be really doubtful of our chances given our goal-scoring troubles this season.

The team will now have to start over for the next campaign and choose a capable manager who can bring the squad together with their optimism, experience and tactics. Hopefully, Boehly gave the players and the caretaker manager an earful because these are individuals being paid handsomely to represent one of the best teams in the world.

They need a reminder of who they are playing for and what is at stake. Boehly, however, must realise that while the occasional pep talk from him could help, he needs to hire an experienced, imposing manager who doesn’t let things come to a point where the owners are having to come to the dressing room.
