Chelsea stars bid farewell to Graham Potter following Stamford Bridge exit

Several Chelsea stars send farewell messages to Graham Potter

Chelsea stars Nono Madueke, Armando Borja, Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella sent a parting message to Graham Potter via social media (h/t Daily Mail). A small number of Chelsea players have openly shown their gratitude to the fired manager.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria liked the post that announced Potter’s dismissal from the Blues. Clearly, not everyone has the same feelings regarding the Englishman’s departure.

Potter’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa proved to be the last game after everything reached an all-time low, which led to Chelsea making their decision. One cannot blame the club for pulling the plug on Potter given the recent run of form.

The England international wrote “Thank you, Gaffer” and an emoji with a blue heart on his Instagram story while hugging Potter. Meanwhile, Cucurella, who knew Potter from Brighton, Hove & Albion, also posted on his social media account with the caption, “Thanks and best of success in the future, gaffer.”

A photo of Potter with the message “thank you, gaffer” was uploaded on Instagram by Armando Broja, who also expressed his thankfulness. Noni Madueke wrote, I will always be grateful to you, coach. All the best, truly!’ expressing his admiration for the former Swansea City boss.

Chelsea have made Bruno Saltor as its temporary manager as they search for the ideal manager to take over Potter’s post after his dismissal. He will kick start this new chapter in his life against Liverpool later today.

It’s great to see several Chelsea players praising Potter’s work. Despite him not having a positive aura in the locker room, he had a minimal impact on Chelsea and helped them get to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

He also had very little time to rectify the situation at Chelsea. And in 31 matches in all competitions, the former Swansea manager only managed to win 12 games, which is not a good record.

While other players could have been aware of his difficulties and the strain he was facing. But that is now irrelevant; we must move on and concentrate on the season’s remaining games.
