Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with Chelsea target Julian Nagelsmann
According to French writer Abdellah Boulma (h/t Express), Julian Nagelsmann has been contacted by Paris Saint-Germain about being their prospective next manager amidst interest from Chelsea.
The former manager of Bayern Munich has been one of Chelsea’s top candidates to succeed Graham Potter at the club. However, Nagelsmann is reportedly delaying his return to club management until the completion of the current campaign.
The club is looking to replace Christophe Galtier, and PSG views the 35-year-old as one of the top candidates to succeed Galtier.
Christophe Galtier, who was hired last year, has fallen short to lead PSG to Champions League success as the club was knocked out of the round of 16 for the second time in a row. They have also lost the aura of invincibility in Ligue 1 post the World Cup.
The former manager of RB Leipzig has previously worked with the club’s sports director Laurence Stewart and technical director Christopher Vivell at RB Leipzig and is also admired by Chelsea. It remains to be seen if the duo will link up at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are also considering hiring Luis Enrique, the former manager of Barcelona, to lead the team. Enrique is now in London for negotiations with the Blues.
He may choose to manage whoever he wants; if he wants to test himself in the Premier League, he is more than welcome to do so, and if PSG is his preference, that is also legitimate.
Nonetheless, we are a more ambitious club and have a more extensive history than PSG. The French team is also a competitive club, although they lack a capable manager who can take them to the summit of European football.
