Liverpool are ready to offer Mason Mount the wages he is seeking at Chelsea
In an effort to lure Mason Mount away from Chelsea, Liverpool are prepared to match his high salary. The midfielder’s contract extension has not yet been agreed upon at Chelsea.
Also, according to Goal (h/t Express), Jürgen Klopp’s team will intensify their pursuit of the England international after having held “positive” discussions with his agency.
The 24-year-old only has one year left on his contract (Transfermarkt) at Chelsea. The Reds and Mount’s agents conducted discussions over a switch to Anfield during the summer transfer window.
They are also willing to pay Mount the salary he is seeking, which will make negotiating personal arrangements simple. Given the youngster’s potential, he could turn into a monster under Jurgen Klopp.
The England international has also been linked to transfers to Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Also, it is said that Chelsea have put a £50 million price on Mount.
The 24-year-old was also an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, which resulted in Graham Potter’s dismissal. The academy graduate will be hoping for game time under interim manager Bruno Saltor since last playing for Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Mount has been one of the top players since graduating from the academy, so it would be quite strange to see him depart the team. Also, Mount Transfer is worth more than £50 million, so that is not all the money we can make from him.
Liverpool have a problem with their over-aged midfield; therefore, Klopp is pressing for a contract because he understands how valuable he is.

But as a new manager approaches, we will be hoping that he can persuade the England international to stay with the team and let him know he’s an integral part of the strategy. Because he would be aware that it would be foolish to sell a player like Mount’s qualities.
