“A big part”- David Moyes offers hope to Chelsea and Arsenal in major summer transfer pursuit

David Moyes claims Declan Rice could leave West Ham United amidst interest from Chelsea and Arsenal

David Moyes has acknowledged that West Ham United may be willing to sell Chelsea and Arsenal transfer target Declan Rice if a team with a significant offer is made in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Although the Hammers have been reluctant to sell the player so far, they might allow him to depart during the summer transfer window. Chelsea have long been interested in re-signing their academy product.

Since the 24-year-old contract at the London Stadium expires in 2024, West Ham would rather sell him now than risk losing him for nothing. The Hammers have put a £100 million price tag on the England player and also have the option of extending his stay by an additional year.

Rice has said that he plans to compete in high-level events and could leave in search of better opportunities. Moyes has been discreet about the England international situation at the club so far but hinted at a potential move in the summer.

The Hammers are willing to let the 24-year-old depart, as the former Manchester United manager recently stated before their match against Liverpool, (h/t Metro), Moyes revealed to the media:

“Yeah, obviously he is such an important player.”

‘’He would be missed by any club, so any club that didn’t have him would miss him, and we certainly would, partly because he is a big part.”

‘’But my hope somewhere is that Dec thinks this is the best place for him to be, and if somebody doesn’t come up with the right amount of money, it will continue to be the place he is as well.”

Rice has established himself at West Ham, but he wants to play for a bigger team. Chelsea or Arsenal would be a better option for him to compete in European tournaments. The Blues might be struggling right now, but we are just one good manager away from rediscovering our touch.

We’ve previously demonstrated that we can spend a lot of money on quality players, and Rice is now regarded as one of Europe’s top midfielders. We will, however, be up against Arsenal, who have risen up the ranks in recent years.

Arsenal may also persuade him to play for them, considering that they will compete in the Champions League next season. However, we can also encourage players to join our team since we are building a project around young players and we consistently compete in the Champions League. Unlike the Gnners, we have also won the trophy-twice. Surely we are more than mere participants.

Therefore, Rice will have a critical decision to make about his future for the upcoming season. He will have no shortage of options. Hopefully a return to Cobham is on the cards.
