Chelsea stars took on ‘coaching’ mantle in abject Brighton clash

Chelsea stars seen coaching themselves following Brighton loss

In their match against Brighton Hove & Albion, Chelsea players were observed coaching themselves, showing a lack of management from interim manager Frank Lampard.

As their hunt for an ideal manager continued,(h/t Express) Chelsea named the midfielder from their last team as interim manager.

In Lampard’s third game as caretaker manager, the Blues lost 2-1 to Brighton after earlier losing 1-0 at Wolves and 2-0 at Real Madrid. The club icon’s second stint could not have gotten off to a worse start.

And if the Blues are unable to come back from their 2-0 disadvantage against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League semifinals, their entire season will be unsalvageable.

Chelsea took the lead shortly before Kepa Arrizabalaga was giving instructions to Chelsea’s defenders. While showing leadership on the field is fine, surely the manager should be the final authority don’t actics.

During the game, defenders Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, and midfielder Denis Zakaria were given guidance by the former Athletic Bilbao goalie.

Because it would demonstrate several reasons why Chelsea cannot maintain cohesiveness during games. However, the league is already gone for Chelsea since a fourth-place result is utterly out of the question, and the only chance they have to compete in the Champions League the following year is to win the tournament.

However, it can be a sign that Lampard’s approach to playing isn’t beneficial, thus explaining why players were giving themselves instruction throughout the game.

But that isn’t the case; regardless of the management, players frequently communicate with one another when they are out of position or not marking the opponent since it facilitates teammates being attentive while playing.

Given that the manager cannot constantly yell orders to his players from the bench, he will either write instructions on the player or give them during halftime. In light of this, it is not a great concern when players instruct themselves.
