Chelsea representatives are in Barcelona to resume their conversation with Luis Enrique as the Blues look for a permanent manager for the upcoming campaign. Representatives Chelsea were in Barcelona according to Monica Marchante’s tweet from AMovistar (h/t Espana).
Julian Nagelsmann, who is considered to be the other leading contender, is understood to have had more communication with Chelsea. However, there does not at this point appear to be a clear favourite for the job.
Enrique, a former Barcelona manager visited London to lay out his philosophy and explain how each player would fit if he is to take charge of the West Londoners. However, nothing concrete appears to have taken place yet.
Tottenham Hotspur have also entered the battle to hire the Spanish manager but don’t seem to have made any progress in negotiations. Whether Chelsea will act fast to beat them to the finishing line remains to be seen.
A decision won’t be hastened by either party, the report adds, with Enrique and Nagelsmann wanting to be “100% convinced of the project” on offer at Stamford Bridge. However, it is thought that the discussions with Nagelsmann are going well, perhaps explaining why we arent going all out for Enrique.
Chelsea are considering their alternatives since they don’t want to make a hasty choice as they did with Graham Potter. Because of this, they hired Frank Lampard to buy them some time to make an informed decision. Enrique and Nagelsmann are two distinct managers. people who are motivated by their philosophies and values.
Enrique is a manager who adheres to the same ideology and seeks out players who can fit in with it. Meanwhile, the former Bayern Munich boss loves to play various styles depending on the team, but the fundamentals always remain the same.
