Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for Conor Gallagher in the summer
According to Fabrizio Romano, via CaughtOffside (h/t Metro), Chelsea have decided that they are willing to listen to offers for midfielder Conor Gallagher in the coming summer transfer window.
The England international has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Everton.
With all due respect to others, the biggest name on that list of suitors are Liverpool, who have been linked with the 23-year-old amidst their pulling out of the Jude Bellingham transfer race. They are also interested in another one of Chelsea’s stars – Mason Mount.
A few days ago, it was reported that Gallagher does not want to leave London. If that is true, then a move to Merseyside (Liverpool or Everton) looks out of the question at the moment. That puts Palace and West Ham in charge of this transfer race.
The Eagles know all about the player as he was their star man during his loan spell at Selhurst Park last season. He scored eight goals and assisted in 34 league appearances from midfield for them.
Since returning to Chelsea last summer, the 23-year-old has struggled for regular game time. He has only amassed a total of 1490 minutes in all competitions for the Blues.
After buying a plethora of players in the last two transfer windows, the club may have no choice but to offload a few in the summer. Daily Mail reported that they could release up to eleven players after the end of this season. Gallagher was on the list of players suspected to leave the club.
