A View From The Bridge

Barcelona have been ‘blacklisted’ from signing out-of-favour Chelsea star

Barcelona blacklisted from signing Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

According to Spanish outlet AS (h/t Football. London), Barcelona have been blacklisted by Chelsea from signing Gabonese veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer.

It’s no secret that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a talented striker with an impressive goal-scoring record. So, when rumours began to circulate that Barcelona was interested in signing him, it came as no surprise.

However, it seems that any prospect of Aubameyang donning the famous Blaugrana jersey has been dealt a huge blow, as Chelsea has reportedly blacklisted the Catalan giants from signing the Gabonese star.

Aubameyang would ‘love’ to return to Barcelona. It’s not difficult to understand why; he enjoyed a successful spell at the club earlier in his career. Things have been disastrous for him at Chelsea.

However, it seems that the Blues are ‘very angry’ with Barcelona’s approaches for their striker, and have taken the drastic step of refusing to allow him to move to Camp Nou.

This just seems like an effort from Chelsea to comb over the mistake they made by bringing in the player for a fee in the first place. The talented Gabonese striker has really not managed to hit the ground running here. He has only managed 12 Premier League appearances – mostly from the bench – and is not in our Champions League knockout rounds squad.

Aubameyang firmly seems to be out of the Chelsea project. The Gabonese striker has absolutely not played in recent times and does not seem like he will get a chance any time soon.

It is high time that Chelsea decide to cut their losses and let the former Arsenal striker leave. It has not worked out till now and it does not look like it will work out any time soon.

Let’s see what Aubameyang decides to do going forward. He is likely to push for a move away from the club. Only time will tell if he ends up at Barcelona again.
