The official Chelsea Twitter account taunts Borussia Dortmund after their Champions League victory
Chelsea had the last laugh following their 2-0 win in the second leg of their Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge. The game was settled by goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz, as Chelsea overturned a 1-0 deficit going into the game.
And now that the Blues are in the Champions League quarterfinal, Potter will be pleased that his side is now turning a corner. The Blues have now won two games in a row across all competitions.
When the game began, the Blues were all over the pitch, creating chances and pressing hard as their only objective was to win the game. There was little choice either with Dortmund coming in with a 1-0 lead to protect.
Graham Potter’s team advanced to the quarterfinals, which significantly lessened the burden on their under-fire boss, who supposedly needed to reach the last eight to escape being fired. Potter, who had been criticised on a regular basis as to why the team had performed so poorly this season, showed signs of relief after the final whistle.
He went to Chelsea supporters and gave them a few fist pumps after they finally saw a dominant outing from Chelsea, for the rest of the season.
More than 21,000 people have liked the sarcastic comment, with Blues fans celebrating in what has generally been a miserable season. However, (h/t Mirror.UK), there was some trolling as well, as the Chelsea Twitter account made a mockery of Dortmund by quoting their tweet and saying:
“Sorry for the delay, admin’s just been hit by a pint from above,”
“Anyone for a beer?”
These types of lighthearted jokes occur as football clubs poke fun at one another every time on social media after the games.
Like before, when Manchester United lost to Liverpool 7-0, everyone was busy trolling Manchester United. At the end o the day, winners talk, the losers walk.

There isn’t any damage in those jokes, as they are meant to be funny, and we believe Dortmund fans have accepted them casually. Hopefully we will have many more opportunities to show off our humour to other sides as a third Champions League trophy awaits.
