A View From The Bridge

PL Star’s father sheds interest on future plans amidst Chelsea interest

Father of Chelsea target Alexis Mac Allister not ruling out a summer move for his son

As quoted by 90min (h/t Football.London), the father of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Carlos, has not ruled out a summer move for his son.

He has admitted that there has been contact with the clubs for a potential move but made it clear that the decision won’t be based on the money offered, but the quality of the coach and the project will be at the forefront of consideration.

Mac Allister has been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal over the past few weeks. Although the Argentine World Cup winner signed a new deal with Brighton in October, the possibility of moving away from the south coast is high.

Here’s what the player’s father said when asked about his future (h/t Football.London):

“Clubs are starting to call us for Alexis but there are no concrete talks now.

“We’ll decide together with Brighton, they deserve respect. We will pick the best project, based on the coach too — it’s not about money.”

What this shows is that the 24-year-old will focus on what is right for him in terms of the next manager and club he will work for, rather than turning a blind eye to that and just looking at the money offered.

It shows maturity from a young player that has come leaps and bounds in the last 18 months. His prominence and stock have risen a lot this season, especially after having a splendid World Cup campaign in Qatar.

Mac Allister is a versatile midfield player who can both play in a deeper-lying role and as a number 10. He loves adding goals from midfield while being good on the ball and offering different dimensions to the team according to the game state.

More Chelsea News:

After selling Jorginho and possibly letting go of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount in the summer, Chelsea could do with an addition like the Argentine. His presence would offer various solutions to the midfield issues the Blues have had this season.
