Chelsea players give positive remarks about Christian Pulisic’s performance following win over Leicester City
Christian Pulisic has received plaudits from his teammates following a strong performance in back-to-back games. The USA international has been an impactful substitute in both contests.
The former Borussia Dortmund player had an excellent World Cup, giving Chelsea signs that players will be in form once he returns to club games.
However, the 24-year-old, though, has had a challenging season after suffering a knee injury in January’s match against Manchester City. Midweek, he entered the game as a substitute and helped the Blues defeat his old team, Borussia Dortmund, in the Champions League.
But Pulisic sat out once again against Leicester City on Saturday in a league match, receiving 18 minutes from Potter as he accelerates his comeback. The former Dortmund player so far has appeared in 17 games for Chelsea with one assist and a goal to his name this term.
The team has now won three straight games and is trying to use their renewed optimism to put a difficult post-World Cup time behind them. Also, Pulisic’s form is currently synchronising with the Blues’ turnaround, which is encouraging because he can then become a really potent member of the squad from the bench or even from the starting XI.
As the 24-year-old posted on Instagram following the game, Pulisic was praised by his teammates. The post includes two images from Leicester’s victory, with the phrase “Solid week” as its caption.
Marc Cucurella led the support for the player, responding to the picture with the phrase “CP is back” and an emoji of a flame. Moreover, Trevor Chalobah as well as Kalidou Koulibaly praised the player in their comments.
It’s encouraging for Chelsea that Pulisic currently appears to be in top form since it will enable Graham Potter to make impactful substitutes. The support of fellow players and fans will encourage the player to put forth his best effort and compete for more playing time.
His teammates would clearly see the talent that he possesses. Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk’s arrival would have suddenly increased competition for places but it doesn’t mean he will be ousted from the first-team picture.

The fact that he has also been linked to a few clubs for a summer transfer, one would hope that his performance will increase his transfer fee if Chelsea decides to sell him at the end of the season.
