Chelsea could offer Christian Pulisic as makeweight for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen
According to Italian publication Calciomercatoweb, Chelsea are looking to offer Christian Pulisic to Napoli in exchange for Victor Osimhen.
The club is contemplating offering Pulisic and cash for the striker. Napoli have set a price tag of €150 million for Osimhen, which could prove too high for the Blues. Chelsea have been in need of a striker due to their lack of goals this season.
Given that Pulisic has barely played this term, his time at Chelsea is gradually drawing to an end. The USA international has played 18 matches in the current campaign in the Premier League, which have amounted to under 700 minutes.
Due to injury, Pulisic has missed the majority of the games and has frequently been used as a substitute. The 24-year-old featured in the starting XI in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Everton. This was his first start after a long-term knee injury but he was subbed off in the 62nd minute after a subpar display.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is enjoying an excellent season with Napoli, scoring 19 goals in 22 Serie A games. And the Nigerian striker has been in the limelight with Napoli’s success this season, who are destined to win the Scudetto.
Napoli are now in the top spot in the Italian league, 18 points ahead of second-place Inter Milan. They are also in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
If Napoli accept the offer, this may turn out to be a significant deal. Pulisic may potentially move to a team where he can play more often, While Chelsea can have a proven striker for the upcoming campaign.
With the increased competition for playing time at Chelsea, Pulisic is unlikely to see much action beginning in the next campaign. Graham Potter could also begin giving players like Mukhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke priority, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Raheem Sterling set to be on our books next term.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just hasn’t worked out for us while Armando Broja hasn’t shown anything to be a regular starter for us just yet. If we can splash money on players such as Enzo Fernandez, Mudryk and Madueke in recent windows, hopefully Todd Boehly has remembered to save some of the cash for addressing the glaring issue in our team – which is up front.
