Serie A giants slap mammoth £150m price tag on Chelsea target

Aurelio De Laurentiis reveals that Chelsea target Victor Osimhen is set to sign new deal with Napoli.

Napoli demand £150m for Chelsea target Victory Osimhen

According to II Mattino (h/t Football.London), Napoli have slapped a price tag of a whopping £150m for their striker and Chelsea target Victor Osimhen.

Along with Chelsea, Manchester United are also in the race to Osimhen. Both clubs are quite visibly in need of a striker before the start of next season.

United have another top target earmarked in the shape of Harry Kane. But, cracking a deal with Daniel Levy won’t be an easy task we all know that.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have no plans to integrate Romelu Lukaku back into the squad once his loan spell with Inter Milan ends in the summer.

That added to the fact that the Blues have struggled for goals aplenty this season, it automatically makes sense as to why they are in the market for a striker.

After a decent campaign last time around for Napoli, Osimhen is having a dream year so far. The Nigerian international has scored 25 goals and assisted five in 29 appearances in all competitions. He is one of the main factors behind Napoli’s procession towards the Serie A title. They are in the quarter-final of the Champions League as well.

Although the price tag sounds daunting, the 24-year-old has not ruled out a move away from the Italian club in the summer. If he wants a new challenge, it should be an encouragement to crack a deal with a fee lesser than the one slapped by the club from Naples.

More Chelsea News:

It is all ifs and buts now though. Things may get clearer as we near the end of this season. Let’s hope that Chelsea are in the hunt to play Champions League football next season, which would put them at par with what United would offer (along with the financial package of course).
