Chelsea bought Jimmy Jay Morgan from the Southampton academy, who has been regarded as the Premier League’s upcoming star.
Popular transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Twitter that Southampton’s Morgan had signed for Chelsea in a deal worth £3 million plus add-on fees.
“Chelsea will complete Jimmy Jay Morgan deal today, contract will be signed in the next hours — 2006 born talented striker joins for Academy from Southampton.”
“The $3 million plus add-on fee contract will be valid until June 2026; medical tests were done last week.”
The Blues completed the deal on the last day of the January transfer window, as now the player will head to West London.
Additionally, Todd Boehly is thought to have signed the player who was considered a future prodigy before Manchester City and Arsenal. He did, however, play for Chelsea’s academy when he was eight years old before switching to Southampton. He was not the finished product back then, as he subsequently rebuilt some bridges along with his budding career, but that was always going to be akin to rolling the roulette wheel at https://www.slotozilla.com/uk/free-spins.
A revelation at the Southampton academy, the 17-year-old’s performances drew attention from prominent Premier League clubs, as evidenced by City and Arsenal.
Morgan earned a promotion to the U18 level after his excellent showing at the U16 level, where he added 13 more goals. Meanwhile, at the U18 level he continued to blossom as in 13 matches the teenager added five assists and six goals to his name.
And as a teenager, he continued to mature more on a daily basis and developed even more into a provider, and since then, he has matured well. And this is what tempted Chelsea to acquire him.
And before he could make his appearance for Saint’s senior team, Chelsea pounced on his signing as the youngster didn’t think twice before joining them. Morgan has now joined the Chelsea team as part of Boehly’s ongoing effort to develop a team of young players.
The player would, however, spend his formative years at the Chelsea junior academy, and once he realises he has established himself as a player, he will undoubtedly receive the call to make his senior squad debut.
The 17-year-old’s talent will help the Chelsea junior academy, and Graham Potter will surely follow his every performance.
