“Here to help”- Chelsea superstar cannot wait to share the pitch with January recruits

Reece James excited to play alongside Chelsea winter transfer window recruits

Chelsea star Reece James is excited to play alongside the new signings the Blues have made in the previous transfer window, with the club spending a considerable amount.

The Stamford Bridge side spent over £300 million on eight new players in January. In Graham Potter’s team, the likes of Benoit Badiashile, Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix have made a real difference since coming in.

Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t football.london), James is looking forward to seeing what the new players will bring to the table at Chelsea. The England international hopes all of the recruits from last month are able to settle in quickly and help the team going forward.

“I quite enjoy playing with new players, you don’t really know what to expect from them. I know they all come in from different places all over the world and different teams.

“They are all here to help at the end of the day. The quicker they are comfortable and settled the quicker they can maximise their help.”

The 23-year-old has been one of our best players over the years. However, injuries have hampered his game time season after season.

In the current campaign, the full-back has once again had to endure many setbacks. However, whenever the defender is called upon, he has been one of our best players on both ends of the pitch.

In the summer, Todd Boehly signed a number of stars as well. However, the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have not made a big enough impact at Chelsea as of yet.

However, most of our winter recruits have shown promise. Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke have also shown glimpses of their talent. David Datro Fofana and Malo Gusto were also signed by the Blues.

Unfortunately, the Stamford Bridge side are yet to put in a dominant performance recently. Potter has struggled to find wins this year at the West London-based club.

But the new players will evidently need time to get to know each other and the gaffer’s tactics and ideas. Hopefully, the winter window has marked the start of a change in the tide at Chelsea.
