Paris-Saint Germain lose appeal to sign Hakim Ziyech on loan from Chelsea
According to Telefoot, French champions Paris-Saint Germain have lost their appeal to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech on loan for the rest of the 2022-23 season.
On the transfer window deadline day, it was more or less confirmed that the Morocco international will move to Paris on loan, with no option to buy.
But, as the report reveals, Chelsea did not send the right documents on time to make this move happen. PSG appealed to the Professional Football League (LFP) about the carelessness of the Blues and justified the delay in completing this deal. The appeal got rejected, hence the player will come back to London.
As much as the failure of this move upset the Ligue 1 giants, it won’t be much beneficial for Chelsea as well. Having made a host of signings in the January window, there are only so many players Graham Potter can pick from to play every game.
The issue regarding squad registration in the Champions League remains as well. With Ziyech being a foreign player, could he be sacrificed to accommodate one of the new signings? Possibly so.
If that is indeed the case and the 29-year-old does not play much from now till May, Chelsea will have an unhappy player on the roster. That generally is not a good sign when you are trying to build squad harmony. It remains to be seen how Ziyech reacts to all of this.

This is not his mistake because he was in Paris and completed the medical to make the move happen. If he is unhappy and grumpy at the situation and the possible lack of game time coming, the club have themselves to blame and no one else.
