“Doing well”- Graham Potter provides heartening update on injured star

Graham Potter offers latest update on Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta

Speaking in the pre-match press conference as quoted by Football. London, Chelsea boss Graham Potter has offered the latest update on Cesar Azpilicueta after the nasty blow that he suffered last weekend.

Potter did reveal that there is no chance for the Spaniard to be involved in the game against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, but he did admit that the Chelsea veteran was getting to speed pretty well.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta recently suffered a concussion during his side’s match against West Ham United in the Premier League. The injury occurred during a collision and Azpilicueta was forced to leave the field.

Since the incident, there has been a great deal of concern among Chelsea fans about the captain’s health and his availability for upcoming matches. After all, the incident did not look one bit good.

According to Potter, Azpilicueta is “as ok as you can be when you’ve had that type of concussion.” While the injury is certainly concerning, it appears that the Chelsea captain is doing well and is able to be around the team.

Potter added on to the situation by saying that he was helping the team from the vicinity and was eager to get back onto the pitch.

“He’s around the place, around the boys, great to see him. Obviously, he won’t be available for the weekend and we have to go through the right protocols. The good news is that he’s doing well.”

Chelsea fans will be hoping that their talismanic captain will be back soon. Although the Spaniard has seen a reduced role this season, he still continues to be very important to his manager.

The Blues will be hoping to put on a show against Tottenham tomorrow, something that they have failed to do for very long now. However, the underlying potential is obvious and let’s hope we see that finally.
