Chelsea star Christian Pulisic linked with late loan exit to Galatasaray
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has been linked with a late loan exit to Galatasaray following the arrivals of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke at Stamford Bridge, according to Football. London.
The 24-year-old American international has struggled for game time under Graham Potter this season, with the new arrivals set to increase competition for places in the Chelsea attack.
Pulisic joined Chelsea in 2019 from Borussia Dortmund for a then club-record fee. He was expected to be the heir to the throne that Eden Hazard vacated when he left the Blues to join Real Madrid.
Despite a strong start to his Chelsea career, the young attacker has struggled with injuries and form, leading to limited game time this season. His talent is pretty obvious but it is with the consistency that he struggles.
Galatasaray have been monitoring Pulisic’s situation closely, and are reportedly keen to take the American on loan until the end of the season. Considering the number of attacking players they have, Chelsea are willing to sanction this move.
The American’s versatility and quality in attack would make him an attractive option for Galatasaray, and could be the ideal solution for all parties involved. A loan move would allow Pulisic to gain much-needed game time and experience.
However, with all due respect to the Turkish league, it will be a huge step down in level for Pulisic should he go play there for the rest of the season. The American is too good a player for that.
Everyone saw at the World Cup just how good Pulisic can actually be. When fit and in form, he can be Chelsea’s best winger amongst all the names mentioned and Potter would be better off backing him.
