A View From The Bridge

Chelsea have not made contact with South American boss as Graham Potter struggles

Chelsea yet to make contact with ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

According to Telegraph journalist Matt Law (h/t Football. London), Chelsea are yet to make a contact with ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino which indicates that Graham Potter is set to continue for a bit longer at least.

While the team’s results have been poor lately, Potter’s job at Stamford Bridge is safe, despite calls for his sacking being heightened over the weekend.

However, former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is still the favourite to take over the position, despite Todd Boehly’s firm stance on a departure. It is an option for the Blues.

Of course, there are other names in the mix as well. Thomas Tuchel, Jose Mourinho, and Antonio Conte have all been tipped to make sensational returns to Stamford Bridge, but it seems unlikely that any of them will take the job.

It looks like Chelsea have decided to give Potter a bit more time to show his ability. We know that the Englishman has a lot of managerial talent and it would be a good thing for the club if they persist with him.

For one, the team may be waiting until the end of the season to make a decision. After all, there are still a number of games left to play, and anything can happen in football. Additionally, Chelsea may be considering other options before making a final decision.

Potter himself seemed like an impulse appointment from Todd Boehly but he definitely isn’t a bad one. With time, the former Brighton man is likely to do wonders with this squad.

A win tomorrow against Tottenham Hotspur will be the perfect catalyst for Chelsea and Graham Potter. Let’s see how the manager goes about inspiring his team.
