Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo is desperate to push through a move to Chelsea or Arsenal
According to Daily Mail, Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder, Moises Caicedo is desperate to push through a move to either Chelsea or Arsenal before the deadline day of the January transfer window.
A week ago, the Seagulls rejected a £55m bid from Chelsea for the Ecuador international. They want something around £80m to have a chance of selling him this month.
Earlier in the day, Arsenal tested Brighton’s waters with a £60m bid. The latest on it is that the south coast club will not accept that offer.
As per Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports, Brighton are under no stress to sell Caicedo this month. So, only a fee set by them can convince them to make this deal happen, either for Chelsea or Arsenal.
The 21-year-old is concerned that a chance to move to either of the London clubs will be missed if this transfer got delayed till the summer as both are looking for a midfielder now.
Arsenal are strongly considering buying a midfielder after learning that Mohamed Elneny’s injury is serious and will keep him out for the rest of this season.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have been short on options in that department throughout this season. Moreover, Jorginho is likely to leave in the summer and N’Golo Kante has not signed his extension yet.
It should be an interesting next few days in this transfer saga. The update that Caicedo himself is looking for a move may soften Brighton’s stance and come down on the asking price.
