“We’re as frustrated”- Chelsea playmaker sends heartfelt message to fans after Fulham loss

Kai Havertz pleads Chelsea fans for unity after Fulham loss

Kai Havertz expressed his displeasure following Chelsea’s 1-2 loss to Fulham, which highlighted the club’s continued woes and saw them remain in 10th position. Graham Potter is under increasing pressure to change the club’s misfortunes.

The loss was further compounded by the dismissal of Joao Felix, and loanee Denis Zakaria limped out of the match, adding another name to their long list of injuries.

Havertz himself has gone four games without scoring across competitions despite finding his rhythm at the start of the season. After the game, the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder posted on Twitter and said:

“Tough times call for togetherness. We’re as frustrated as all the fans with the way things are going at the moment. We’ll continue to work on ourselves and improve with everyday! COYB 💙”

Fans have been quick to criticise Chelsea and the management for their awkward spending strategy this winter. We’ve signed Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, and David Datro Fofana but none of these signings immediately strengthen our starting XI. Felix, meanwhile, is a loan acquisition.

Potter called for his supporters’ patience and urged them to support him through these turbulent times rather than turn their backs, despite the mounting pressure on him and about his future at the club.

The situation appears to be getting worse as Chelsea will now be without Felix for three games. The Portuguese genuinely changed the game and proved that the Blues needed a creative playmaker to control the proceedings.

They still require players who can impact the game, such as a striker, fullback, and midfielder. Chelsea, though, is currently in need of a natural number 9, as the team has struggled to be aggressive in front of the goal.

We understand the frustration of the fans and their need for immediate change, but we still have a long season ahead of us. The 47-year-old will undoubtedly motivate and inspire and could take the club to the top-four finish if players find togetherness in the subsequent games.

We next face Crystal Palace at home, and the home fans’ support is needed more than ever. As for Havertz’s message, fans would perhaps appreciate it more if they saw changes on the pitch rather than words online.
